Responsibilities
- Safely transport K-12 students to/from school and extracurricular activities
- Conduct thorough pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintenance checks
- Enforce school district safety protocols and manage student behavior
- Maintain accurate attendance and incident documentation
- Adhere strictly to traffic laws and designated routes
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Ensure bus cleanliness and emergency equipment readiness
Qualifications
- Valid Texas Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement
- Minimum 2 years professional driving experience
- Pass DOT physical examination and drug screening
- Clean MVR record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Child safety certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate wheelchair lifts
- Strong interpersonal skills with patience for diverse age groups
