Responsibilities
- Transport students to and from school and school-related activities in a safe and timely manner.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is in safe operating condition.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe environment on the bus at all times.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and school district policies.
- Monitor student behavior and ensure students remain seated and safe while on board.
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch regarding delays or issues.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
- Current Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT Physical).
- Clean driving record with no major violations or DUIs within the last 5 years.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check, drug screening, and motor vehicle record check.
- Good communication skills and a patient, friendly demeanor.
