Responsibilities
- Safely transport students on assigned routes following all traffic laws and safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of the bus to ensure mechanical safety
- Manage student behavior with positive reinforcement and clear expectations
- Maintain accurate attendance and route documentation
- Communicate professionally with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adhere to strict safety procedures during loading/unloading and emergencies
- Assist students with mobility needs as required
Qualifications
- Valid Florida Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Prior experience working with children preferred
- Ability to pass background check
