Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following traffic laws and safety protocols
- Conduct thorough pre/post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety
- Supervise student boarding/alighting while maintaining a positive environment
- Implement emergency procedures during transit incidents
- Maintain accurate student attendance and route documentation
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and dispatch
- Adhere to district policies regarding student conduct and transportation guidelines
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement
- DOT medical certification and clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year professional driving experience
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Strong interpersonal skills with child safety awareness
- Flexibility for early morning/afternoon shifts
- Basic mechanical knowledge for vehicle troubleshooting
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred
