Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (box trucks, vans) for daily delivery routes across Chicago metro area
- Load/unload merchandise with proper equipment (pallet jacks, dollies) while maintaining inventory accuracy
- Adhere to DOT regulations, safety protocols, and defensive driving practices
- Maintain detailed delivery logs, mileage records, and vehicle inspection reports
- Provide exceptional customer service at delivery points with professional communication
- Optimize routes using GPS technology to ensure timely deliveries
- Perform minor vehicle maintenance checks and report issues promptly
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years commercial driving experience in urban environments
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and work in varying weather conditions
- Strong navigation skills and familiarity with Chicago street systems
- DOT medical certification and ability to pass pre-employment drug screen
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional logistics training preferred
- Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities
- Basic proficiency with delivery tracking software and mobile devices
