Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and functionality
- Manage student behavior with patience and professionalism during transit
- Maintain accurate attendance and incident documentation
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation coordinators
- Adhere to strict maintenance schedules and reporting procedures
Qualifications
- Valid North Carolina Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger/school bus endorsement
- Minimum 21 years of age with clean driving record
- Pass background check and DOT physical examination
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Previous child-related experience preferred
