Responsibilities
- Safely Load and Unload Freight: Utilize proper lifting techniques and equipment (pallet jacks, forklifts) to handle packages and cargo without damage.
- Vehicle Inspection: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe operating condition and report any maintenance needs immediately.
- Adhere to Traffic Laws: Drive defensively and comply with all local, state, and federal traffic regulations to ensure the safety of passengers, cargo, and the public.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the cargo area and driver's cab clean and organized at all times.
- Route Management: Follow assigned routes efficiently, manage time effectively, and update dispatch regarding any delays or deviations.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers and clients during pickups and deliveries.
Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License: A current and valid driver's license is required.
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL): Class A or Class B CDL is preferred; however, Class C with a clean driving record will be considered for specific local routes.
- Clean Driving Record: No more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years and no DUIs on record.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and stand for extended periods.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills and ability to use mobile GPS and dispatch software.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to verify delivery addresses and handle cargo with care.
