Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (Class A/B CDL) for local deliveries and short-haul routes
- Perform pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Load/unload freight efficiently using appropriate equipment (pallet jacks, forklifts)
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations, safety protocols, and delivery timelines
- Provide exceptional customer service during delivery interactions
- Utilize GPS technology for optimized route navigation and real-time updates
- Report operational issues and maintain clear communication with dispatch team
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year verifiable CDL driving experience
- Current DOT medical certification and required endorsements (Hazmat a plus)
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and work in varying weather conditions
- Strong knowledge of Chicago metropolitan area roadways
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Basic computer proficiency for digital logs and documentation
