Responsibilities
- Safely transport medical specimens, pharmaceuticals, and lab supplies between hospitals, clinics, and laboratories
- Maintain strict temperature control and chain-of-custody protocols for sensitive materials
- Accurately document deliveries using electronic tracking systems and maintain delivery logs
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance standards and maintain strict confidentiality protocols
- Perform pre-trip vehicle inspections and ensure proper sanitation of transport equipment
- Coordinate with medical staff to schedule urgent and time-sensitive pickups/deliveries
- Communicate effectively with dispatch team regarding delivery status and route challenges
Qualifications
- Valid California driver's license with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year experience in medical transport or courier services
- Certification in medical waste handling (OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens training preferred)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate temperature-controlled transport units
- Proficiency with GPS navigation and electronic documentation systems
- Strong attention to detail with proven ability to follow complex protocols
- Exceptional time management skills with punctuality as a core value
- Background check and drug screening required for healthcare clearance
