Responsibilities
- Safely Operate Vehicles: Drive commercial trucks (Class A or B) to deliver freight on time and within budget.
- Route Management: Plan and follow efficient routes to ensure timely delivery of goods throughout the Seattle metro area and beyond.
- Inspections: Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance and report any mechanical issues.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs, delivery receipts, and electronic logging device (ELD) records in strict accordance with DOT regulations.
- Cargo Handling: Secure cargo properly and assist with loading and unloading freight safely to prevent damage.
- Communication: Maintain clear communication with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and any delays.
- Compliance: Adhere to all company policies, safety protocols, and traffic laws at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL: Must hold a valid Commercial Driver's License (Class A or B) with the proper endorsements.
- Clean Record: Must possess a clean driving record with no major traffic violations or DUIs in the last 5 years.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination, and meet vision and hearing requirements.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to read and comprehend maps and delivery instructions.
- Work Schedule: Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the route schedule.
