Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks (dry van/refrigerated) for local/regional routes
- Load/unload cargo with proper equipment (pallet jacks, forklifts)
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and electronic records (ELD)
- Perform pre/post-trip inspections and report maintenance needs
- Adhere to DOT regulations and safety protocols
- Collaborate with dispatch team for efficient route optimization
- Provide exceptional customer service at delivery points
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record (no DUIs in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Knowledge of Chicago metro area and Midwest highways
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Flexible schedule including early mornings and weekends
- Excellent time management and communication skills
