Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (flatbed, dry van) to transport goods across designated routes
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations
- Load/unload freight with precision and proper securing techniques
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and electronic logging
- Communicate with dispatch team and clients regarding shipment status
- Adapt to changing schedules and prioritize time-sensitive deliveries
- Report maintenance issues and participate in vehicle upkeep
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical loading/unloading duties
- Familiarity with NYC/NJ traffic patterns and port operations
- Strong time management and route optimization skills
- Basic knowledge of cargo securement and hazardous materials handling
- Pass background check and drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent required
