Responsibilities
- Safely operate and maintain your DOT-compliant box truck for local/regional deliveries
- Optimize delivery routes using GPS technology to meet tight deadlines
- Coordinate with dispatch for real-time load assignments and priority shipments
- Complete thorough pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate mileage logs
- Provide exceptional customer service during loading/unloading and delivery confirmations
- Adhere to FMCSA regulations and company safety protocols at all times
- Manage paperwork including bills of lading and delivery documentation
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years box truck or straight truck experience as owner operator
- Reliable late-model box truck (24-26ft) in excellent mechanical condition
- Strong knowledge of Indianapolis metro area and surrounding regions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate loading equipment safely
- Proficient with smartphone apps for navigation and communication
- Proven track record of on-time deliveries and customer satisfaction
- DOT medical certification and current insurance coverage
