Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (dry van and flatbed) across Michigan and surrounding states
- Adhere to DOT regulations and maintain accurate logbooks
- Perform pre-trip inspections and basic preventative maintenance
- Coordinate with dispatch for efficient route planning and delivery timelines
- Ensure proper cargo securement and handling procedures
- Communicate professionally with clients and warehouse personnel
- Document delivery receipts and resolve discrepancies promptly
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb trailer steps
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Knowledge of Michigan roadways and weather conditions
- Basic computer literacy for electronic logging
- Strong commitment to safety and punctuality
