Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles to deliver packages and documents on strict timelines
- Plan efficient routes using GPS technology while adhering to traffic laws
- Load/unload shipments with proper handling protocols for fragile/temperature-sensitive items
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and obtain recipient signatures
- Communicate proactively with dispatch regarding route issues or delays
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs
- Provide exceptional customer service during delivery interactions
Qualifications
- Valid Virginia driver's license with clean 3-year driving record
- Minimum 1 year professional driving experience (delivery preferred)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout shift
- Strong knowledge of Virginia Beach and surrounding areas
- Proficiency with smartphone navigation apps and delivery tracking systems
- Reliable transportation to/from work location
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends
