Responsibilities
- Safe Operation: Operate commercial trucks in a safe and professional manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Fleet Maintenance: Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is in good working order.
- Freight Handling: Load and unload cargo safely using appropriate equipment, ensuring all freight is secured properly.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs (ELD) and complete all necessary delivery and pickup paperwork.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers and dock personnel to ensure timely deliveries.
- Compliance: Adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety standards at all times.
Qualifications
- CDL License: Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required.
- Clean Record: Must possess a clean driving record (MVR) and no major violations in the past 3-5 years.
- Background Check: Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and a negative drug screen.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading freight.
- Experience: Previous driving experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidates.
