Responsibilities
- Operate dump trucks safely and efficiently to transport various materials, including sand, gravel, rock, and soil.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure mechanical safety and compliance.
- Load and unload materials using forklifts or loaders, ensuring proper weight distribution.
- Maintain accurate logbooks and electronic logging device (ELD) records in strict accordance with DOT regulations.
- Navigate job sites in Henderson and surrounding areas, adhering to traffic laws and site-specific safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and site managers regarding delivery times and any potential delays.
- Keep the truck clean and maintain a professional appearance while on duty.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience driving dump trucks or heavy haul vehicles.
- A clean driving record with no major traffic violations in the past 3 years.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical examination and drug screen.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and construction site traffic control.
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy loads and work in various weather conditions.
- Must be willing to work a schedule that may include overtime and weekends.
