Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy dump trucks to transport materials such as dirt, gravel, and rock to and from job sites.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure equipment is in safe operating condition.
- Load and unload materials efficiently using loader/backhoe attachments or manual methods.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of daily mileage and delivery information.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety protocols at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, site supervisors, and crew members.
- Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of the truck cab and bed to maintain a professional appearance.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience driving dump trucks or similar heavy equipment.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, road signs, and safe driving practices.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and sit for extended periods.
- Physically capable of lifting heavy objects (50+ lbs) and operating heavy machinery controls.
- Must have a clean driving record and pass a background check.
