Responsibilities
- Operate dump trucks to transport materials such as dirt, gravel, and demolition debris to designated sites.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance and identify mechanical issues.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently while adhering to safety protocols and weight limits.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours and mileage (DOT compliant).
- Navigate construction sites and urban Columbus areas safely, adhering to traffic laws and site regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and site managers regarding delivery schedules and any delays.
- Maintain a clean driving record and a professional appearance.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A required.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial dump truck driving experience.
- Must possess a clean driving abstract (MVR) with no major violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a DOT drug screen and background check.
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy items and work in various weather conditions.
- Strong knowledge of cargo securement and DOT regulations.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime as needed.
