Responsibilities
- Operate dump trucks safely and efficiently to transport materials (soil, rock, sand, gravel) to designated sites.
- Load and unload materials using hydraulic hoists or manual methods, ensuring load security.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any mechanical issues immediately.
- Maintain accurate daily logs (DOT compliant) and adhere to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Clear debris from the truck bed and ensure the vehicle is clean and presentable.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and site supervisors regarding delivery times and route changes.
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience operating dump trucks or heavy haulage vehicles.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug screening.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and defensive driving techniques.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy objects and working in various weather conditions.
- Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
