Responsibilities
- Safely Operate Vehicles: Drive commercial trucks on assigned delivery routes in and around the Chicago area, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Customer Service: Deliver products to clients with a professional demeanor, ensuring accurate loading, unloading, and proper handling of goods.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition and report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, mileage, and times, ensuring all paperwork is completed correctly and filed on time.
- Inventory Management: Verify that the correct quantity and type of merchandise is loaded and delivered, managing inventory on board as needed.
- Route Planning: Follow established route maps efficiently to optimize travel time and fuel consumption.
Qualifications
- CDL Class A License: Valid and current Commercial Driver's License (Class A) is required.
- Driving Record: Clean driving record with no recent DUIs or major traffic violations.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience in a commercial truck or similar vehicle.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly, climb in and out of the truck cab, and work in various weather conditions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills for interacting with dispatch and customers.
- Availability: Ability to work a consistent schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
