Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial Class A trucks to deliver freight to designated locations in a timely and efficient manner.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with FMCSA and DOT regulations.
- Document all delivery information accurately using ELD and electronic logging systems.
- Load and unload cargo securely, verifying shipment contents against bills of lading.
- Maintain a clean driving record and adhere to all traffic laws and company safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding route changes and delivery updates.
- Perform minor vehicle maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues immediately.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record (MVR).
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screen.
- Ability to pass a background check and criminal history verification.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state traffic laws, as well as hazardous materials regulations if applicable.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to perform pre-trip inspections.
- Valid Medical Examiner's Certificate.
