Responsibilities
- Safely Operate Commercial Vehicles: Operate Class A trucks in a safe, courteous, and professional manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Load and Unload Cargo: Secure cargo properly using straps, chains, and cargo bars to ensure safe transport.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify and report any mechanical issues before hitting the road.
- Maintain Accurate Logs: Keep detailed records of driving hours, miles traveled, and cargo status using Electronic Logging Devices (ELD).
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers and dock personnel to facilitate efficient loading and unloading of freight.
- Route Adherence: Follow assigned routes and delivery schedules to ensure timely arrival at destinations.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A License: Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with the proper endorsements.
- Clean Driving Record: No more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years and no DUIs/DWIs in the last 7 years.
- Ability to Pass Drug Screen: Must be willing to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and random testing as required by DOT regulations.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, sit for extended periods, and perform physical tasks such as climbing in and out of the cab.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills for interacting with dispatch and customers.
- Willingness to Travel: Must be willing to travel regionally or OTR based on route assignment.
