Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (dry van, refrigerated, flatbed) following DOT regulations
- Plan efficient routes to meet delivery deadlines while prioritizing safety
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle logs
- Coordinate with dispatch team for real-time route adjustments and delivery confirmations
- Ensure proper loading/unloading of freight and secure cargo according to specifications
- Resolve delivery exceptions and communicate with clients professionally
- Maintain compliance with all federal/state transportation laws and company policies
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years commercial driving experience or recent CDL graduate
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Proficient in using electronic logging devices (ELD) and GPS navigation
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills
- Flexibility to work irregular hours including weekends and overnight routes
- Basic mechanical knowledge for minor vehicle troubleshooting
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
