Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles to transport freight on dedicated routes
- Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Ensure timely delivery of shipments while adhering to DOT regulations
- Collaborate with dispatch team to optimize delivery schedules and resolve route challenges
- Load/unload cargo securely using proper equipment and safety protocols
- Maintain professional communication with clients and dispatch during transit
- Participate in ongoing safety training and certification programs
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A license with clean driving record (minimum 2 years experience)
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Familiarity with Chicago metro area and Midwest transportation corridors
- Strong commitment to safety compliance and defensive driving practices
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and work in various weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of electronic logging devices (ELD) systems
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
