Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles for multi-state deliveries and local NYC routes
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations, HOS guidelines, and NYC traffic ordinances
- Perform pre/post-trip inspections and basic preventative maintenance
- Coordinate with dispatch teams for real-time route optimization and delivery updates
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and electronic logs
- Provide exceptional customer service during residential/commercial deliveries
- Implement defensive driving techniques in high-density urban environments
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record (no DUIs in past 5 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- NYC commercial driving permit and familiarity with borough restrictions
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and operate loading equipment
- Pass background check and drug screening per DOT standards
- Proficient in electronic logging devices (ELD) and GPS navigation
- Strong knowledge of NYC geography and bridge clearance requirements
- HAZMAT endorsement preferred but not required
