Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks and trailers in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and DOT regulations.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and compliance.
- Load and unload cargo securely, utilizing proper tie-down techniques and handling equipment.
- Maintain accurate records in electronic logging devices (ELD) and daily logbooks.
- Navigate complex routes within the New Orleans metro area and surrounding regions.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any delays.
- Uphold a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (Class A) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience preferred.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong knowledge of cargo securement and safety regulations.
- Flexibility to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime as needed.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be willing to undergo a background check and drug screening.
