Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks and trailers to transport freight safely and on time.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and adhere to all DOT regulations.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, ensuring proper securing and weight distribution.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status, delays, and route changes.
- Ensure the cargo bay and vehicle interior are kept clean and organized at all times.
- Observe all traffic laws and safety procedures to ensure a hazard-free environment.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) issued by the state of Ohio.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience (preferred).
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Medical Card).
- Clean driving record with no major violations (DUI, reckless driving, at-fault accidents).
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and problem-solving skills for minor roadside issues.
- Strong time management and communication skills.
