Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and trailers in a professional manner.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections as required by DOT regulations.
- Load and unload cargo efficiently, ensuring weight distribution is correct.
- Maintain accurate logs (Electronic Logging Device - ELD) and paperwork.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Clean driving record with no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years.
- Current DOT Medical Card.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable driving experience.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of Chicago area routes and traffic patterns.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends if necessary.
