Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial Class A trucks and vans to deliver freight on time and damage-free.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
- Manage accurate logbooks and electronic logging devices (ELD) in strict adherence to Hours of Service (HOS) laws.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement.
- Navigate complex routes throughout the Gulf Coast region efficiently and safely.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any delays.
- Maintain a clean driving record and ensure the interior and exterior of the company vehicle remain professional.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Medical Card).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable driving experience (OTR or Local).
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and alcohol screening.
- Familiarity with Hazmat or Tanker endorsements is a plus but not required.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
