Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial trucks to deliver freight to various destinations within the region.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance and safety.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment (forklift, straps, tarps) while ensuring cargo security.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and adhere to all DOT regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times and any potential issues.
- Keep the vehicle clean and maintain professional appearance at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable verifiable Class A driving experience.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety protocols, and cargo handling procedures.
- Basic computer skills for logging and reporting.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
