Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles on highways and local routes in Illinois and surrounding states.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual handling equipment as required.
- Maintain accurate logs using Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) and adhere to Hours of Service (HOS) regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any delays.
- Ensure the security and integrity of all freight during transit.
- Keep the truck and trailer clean and well-maintained at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- Must have a clean driving record (MVR) with no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- 1+ years of verifiable Class A driving experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of traffic laws, safety regulations, and cargo securement.
- Basic math skills for weight calculations and document verification.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
