Responsibilities
- Operate commercial motor vehicles (Class A CDL) safely and efficiently to deliver freight on time.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) and company safety standards.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring all items are secured properly using appropriate tie-downs.
- Maintain accurate logs (Electronic Logging Device - ELD) and daily mileage records.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding route changes, delays, or delivery issues.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company driving policies to ensure a zero-accident record.
- Represent Apex Freight Services professionally to clients and the public at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable driving experience in a similar role.
- Clean driving record with no more than 3 moving violations in the past 3 years.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical examination and drug screening.
- Basic knowledge of trucking regulations, DOT requirements, and cargo securement.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional overnight travel.
