Responsibilities
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance and identify any potential issues.
- Safely operate commercial trucks to deliver freight to designated locations in and around San Diego.
- Load and secure cargo using proper tie-downs and weight distribution techniques.
- Maintain accurate driver logs (ELD) and comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding delivery schedules and any route changes.
- Practice defensive driving techniques to ensure the safety of yourself, your cargo, and the public.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience in commercial truck driving.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Willingness to undergo a background check and drug screening.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Must be able to operate a variety of commercial vehicles and handle cargo securely.
