Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, in compliance with all federal and state regulations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, ensuring the safety of goods in transit.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving time and mileage using electronic logging devices (ELD).
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies to minimize risks and accidents.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and potential delays.
- Conduct routine vehicle maintenance checks to prevent breakdowns during routes.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screen.
- Must be at least 21 years of age for interstate driving.
- Strong commitment to safety and defensive driving techniques.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for minor vehicle troubleshooting.
- Reliable history of employment and a clean driving record (no major violations).
- Willingness to undergo paid training programs for qualified applicants with no experience.
