Responsibilities
- Safely operate box trucks for local/regional deliveries (avg. 200-250 miles/day)
- Complete pre/post-trip inspections and maintain DOT compliance documentation
- Manage loading/unloading with proper pallet jack operation
- Utilize GPS tracking systems for real-time route optimization
- Communicate delivery status and exceptions to dispatch team
- Submit accurate weekly mileage and expense reports
- Uphold company safety protocols and delivery time standards
Qualifications
- Valid Class B CDL license with clean MVR (3+ years driving history)
- Minimum 1 year box truck experience with hazmat endorsement preferred
- Relatively owned/leased box truck (26-28ft) in good condition
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and operate pallet jacks
- Smartphone with data plan for mobile app communication
- Basic accounting knowledge for independent contractor responsibilities
- Availability for 4-5 day workweek (Mon-Fri or Tue-Sat)
- Virginia Beach residency or willingness to relocate to service area
