Responsibilities
- Safely operate a box truck (delivery van) to transport goods to designated locations within Miami and surrounding areas.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring items are protected from damage during transit.
- Inspect the vehicle before and after each trip to ensure it is in optimal working condition and report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Plan efficient routes using GPS and traffic updates to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance of the vehicle's interior and exterior at all times.
- Handle all necessary paperwork, including delivery receipts, bills of lading, and mileage logs, accurately and promptly.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal traffic laws and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is preferred but not always required for box trucks.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a box truck owner-operator or professional driver.
- Current, valid DOT medical card and commercial auto insurance.
- Strong knowledge of Miami roadways and traffic patterns.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively without direct supervision.
- Must possess a clean driving record with no serious traffic violations.
