Responsibilities
- Transport freight safely and efficiently to designated delivery points within the Chicago metro area and surrounding regions.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and vehicle maintenance.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing items to prevent damage.
- Maintain accurate logbooks and digital electronic logging devices (ELD) in accordance with FMCSA regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients during loading and unloading processes.
- Manage fueling, truck maintenance, and general cleanliness of the vehicle.
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record (MVR).
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable experience as a Box Truck or Straight Truck Driver.
- Current DOT medical card and insurance coverage.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Reliable access to a smartphone for communication and logging purposes.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to meet tight delivery deadlines.
